THEY WANTED IT MORE...

Por Aldo

Again, you probably read the game summary on any of the sports´ online sites so I won´t summarize the game.

To begin, I didn´t know the game was being televised in the states (US). They are not televising it here in Mexico even in Aguascalientes. Good thing I was checking my e-mail because I came across a post online from someone from the states who was watching the game on TV. So I was able to catch the second half of the game through my computer, which has US channels (in this case, fox sports en español).

Alright, here are my 2 cents about the game (well, the 2nd Half)...

Our defense did not clearing the ball effectively at all. There were times they were clearing it back to Puebla when they had plenty of time to pass it along the midfield. Other times they just simply passed it to them. Even though were losing 1-0, It seemed as if we were winning and we were now playing defense.

When we had opportunities to score, it seemed that we weren´t in sync with one another, we didn´t have set plays, and/or we didn´t know how to set them up. Our offense was all over the place.

In the 42nd min. someone got off a great shot on goal (can´t recall who) but the goalie made a great save by blocking it out. There were other opportunities towards the end but we just couldn´t put the ball in the net.

Here are some things that standed out:

* Bernal was once again our savior! He made some great saves!
* Still haven´t seen anything from Pocho.
* Mario Perez played good once again but no one really helped him out. He can´t do it all.
* Didn´t see Villa fall this time but then again, he got subbed in the 60th min. and I didn´t see the 1st half.

I don´t know how the first half was but based on the second half, we are still showing inconsistency and no passion. Today Puebla wanted it more. They scored early in the 4th min. and with so much time left, we couldn´t equalize and not because of their defense but because of our ownselves.

Next week I´ll be at Victoria in another must win game against los Indios. Hopefully, I won´t be the only one there rooting for them. But maybe I won´t be; I was surprised to see a good amount of supporting fans at Puebla and I´m pretty sure they came all the way from Aguascalientes.

NOTE: I just realized the game was being televised in Aguascalientes exclusively via the satellite provider SKY. It´s sad that I´m somewhat happy that I didn´t know about it.
